I was working on my Thread Fusion demo for the longarm group that meets at Trackside Quilting that I almost didn't actually complete a quilt for May. But I did - on the very last day of May.
This quilt has been quilted for years and I even had the machine sewing part of the binding completed. I just hadn't gotten around to hand sewing the binding on it until now.
Years ago, the Quilt By Association guild did a crayon challenge. We drew a crayon from a hat and then we were to create a quilted item using black, white, and the color of the crayon we had drawn. The color that I drew was called Mac & Cheese. I did have the top completed in time for the challenge.
When I did this quilt, I focused on using up all of the black and white fabric I had on hand. It worked splendidly. I had no black or white fabric anywhere when I was done! I had to purchase more black and white fabric when I took a class at the Big Sky Quilt Retreat in March 2013.
This quilt is for my son, Keegan.
