Round Robin for Tamie F.
Tamie wrote that she loves apples. She actually got really excited about the project and did the first two rounds. I did the baskets because I thought she should have more baskets in which to gather all of her apples.

Block Exchange
Blocks I did for the block exchange through Yellowstone Valley Quilt Guild.
I now have completed enough blocks for the block exchange program that I get to request another round of blocks in January 2017. My husband had told me that I should give up some quilting things and day guild was at the top of his list to drop for 2017. I told him I had to pay dues for 2017 because I get to present to get blocks in January!

Round Robin
Alice J. offered this round robin for the exchange at Yellowstone Valley Quilt Guild. Betty H. had the exchange package for a while and decided that she didn't think she could add a round to it because it looked done. Betty talked to Alice and asked if we could finish the project for her rather than adding a round. I quilted it. Then I gave it back to Betty to do the binding.
It may be the first round robin project in my history that gets completed.

Row by Row
The row I completed for the row by row exchange through Yellowstone Valley Quilt Guild.
I picked this row by row exchange project up for Leslie at a guild meeting that she would not be able to attend. I usually receive my rows from Leslie so I looked at what had been done up to that point to see what I would be in for the following month. It just so happened that I had checked out a book from the guild library that had the flowers I wanted to do for this row by row. Yeah!
In My Garden - #47 November
I have not been completing a quilt a month in 2016. Maybe I will get to do better in 2017 :-)
I did finish a quilt in November though. Victory!
I finished In My Garden. The pattern is by Laura Heine of Fiberworks in Billings.
In May of 2015, Margaret H. in the night guild asked me if I would do a couple of quilts for her daughter's friend that started a business and no longer had time to quilt. Unwisely, I said sure. I should have know that if Margaret was unwilling to do the quilt, it wasn't something I would really want to dig into. But I said yes. Then I saw that the patterns/kits were trapunto. All I have to say is that I got to learn a lot with these projects.
I did four rounds of quilting on In My Garden.
Round 1 - Regular thread to get the shading on all of the flowers.
Round 2 - Sew Sassy 12 weight thread to add thicker accents and spirals on flowers and leaves.
Then, I cut out the first layer of batting from around the flowers for the trapunto part.
Round 3 - 40 weight thread for background quilting.
Round 4 - Sew Sassy 12 weight thread for the overquilting.
Then, I was crazy and added yo-yos in the flower centers. That covered up some of the shading quilting I had done in Round 1 of quilting. I guess it was ok because it added texture and a 3 D effect to the quilt.
I really like the look of the Sew Sassy 12 weight thread. I don't have a lot of cause to use it but when I do, I am happy with the results.
