Keegan noticed that I used the cut out heart from 2017 to create the 2018 hearts.
Such an observant feller.
I do remember thinking last year when I cut out the hearts for the reverse applique, "What am I going to do with these cut outs?"
I guess the answer was wait a year and I could use them for the next round!

Gift
Each month at the Yellowstone Valley Quilt Guild meeting, Sue K., the President, challenges members to create a quilted item based on a theme she presents. Usually the theme has something to do with the holiday for that month.
Then, Sue K. generously creates an item that she gives to one of the participants in the President's Challenge that month. This year, Sue is creating wall hangings from Edyta Sitar's book, Seasonal Silhouettes.
I was the lucky winner for February!

February's theme was love. I showed the Valentine's Day Hearts I created for 2018.

Sprinkling of Stars
The raffle quilt for the 2019 Big Sky Quilt Show and Classes is from the Sprinkling of Stars pattern that has been heavily advertised on Keepsake Quilting.
Saturday, January 27, committee members met at Trackside Quilting in Laurel, MT to work on blocks. Theresa K. then took the blocks home, created more blocks, and put the top together. Mary L. will quilt the raffle quilt.
Here are two small star blocks I created:

Saturday Sampler Block Exchange
In 2018, Trackside Quilting in Laurel, MT started a Saturday Sampler Block Exchange. Whoever is interested does a block that will be exchanged at the end of the year. That means you do not get the block you created back but you do get a block from someone else. This makes it a type of friendship exchange.
This is the block I created for the exchange turned in around the first Saturday of February.

2017 Heart - F1
These 2017 Hearts were started, even quilted by February 14, 2017, in 2017 but the binding did not get finished until 2018.
Finished the binding on this feller on February 1st - just in time for the 2018 Valentine's Day!

Harvest - F2
I started this Harvest table topper as a sample for the strip club classes I was teaching at Trackside Quilting in Laurel in 2016.

2018 Orange Heart - F3
Because I challenged myself to finish one item per day for a month, I did get the 2018 Valentine's Day Hearts completed close to their due date of the 14th. I did finish this orange one on February 3rd.
Dillon's Heart:
When I presented the Hearts to the boys on February 14th and this one was the only one that was done, Keegan was sad because his didn't have the binding on.

2018 Hearts
I only had one of the 2018 Hearts completely done when I presented them to the boys for a few moments on Valentine's Day. I finished the binding on the other 3 the day after Valentine's Day.
To Keegan:

To Dale:
I just let the boys look at the hearts for a few minutes because they had not yet made the rounds through the guild show and tells. As of this posting, they still do not have the hearts in their possession because they have not yet been to show and tell at the Joliet guild.
