Community Quilts

I was trying to take things easy after my gum grafting surgery so I quilted some community quilts.  I don’t love to do the binding so I just turn the pieces into QBA without binding.  There are some ladies who love binding so I will let them do it 😊

This polyester top was in a bag to be made into a dog bed.  I thought it was fine enough to be a quilt for a human for a while.  So I quilted it.

Keepsake Quilting now has fabric printed that looks like denim scraps on top of each other.  I had been thinking about my denim scraps for a while.  When I had some backing left on the bottom of the other community quilts, I used my quilting machine to put denim scraps together.  These are cut about placement size.  I made a bigger one that I like better.

I had this denim bordered polyester top created for a long time.  I intended to use it in case I had to do a demo.  But I finally decided just to quilt it.

Another placemat.

Friendship 2019 Shivery Snowmen

The pattern selected for this year's Friendship Block Exchange is Shivery Snowmen.  We had 3 different fabrics we could use in our blocks so fabric was less important this year.  We did still have the restriction of all batik fabric.

Blocks I created for the exchange:
January

February

March

April

May

June

July

August

September

October

November

December

Following are the blocks I received from my friends:
Because there were fewer than 12 people participating, I received 2 of my blocks back.  January was the first block we got to keep.

Now I need to get the quilt completed by the next get together on Saturday, April 4, 2020.

The exchange party was Saturday, September 7 at my house.  It is always fun to get together.

I had part of the top put together to show this at 60 Day Club at the Laurel Golf Club on Saturday, November 2.

Finished putting on the outer borders of the top on Monday, November 4.
