My sister, Shaina, found the pattern for the Large Wire Frame Tote in Havre at the Bearly Square Quilt Shop. The pattern is from the Fat Quarter Gypsy. Shaina wanted Mom to make the tote for her to haul her groceries. Shaina owns Andy's Restaurant in Havre. Although Shaina asked Mom when she was going to have the totes done once, Mom told her that she needed help from me to understand the directions.
A number of months ago, Mom brought the pattern to me to have me explain it in words. It didn't work out so this round, she brought supplies to create the totes. Our first stop was Bernina to get extra supplies. At that time, I purchased supplies for me to create a tote too. I wanted to created a tote so I could show Mom what to do with her totes. I wanted to stay one step ahead.
By the time Mom headed back to Havre, she had completed one tote. She had started on the other three she is intending to make for Shaina.
I used some of my Judy Niemeyer fabric for this project. I like the result a lot.

Pillowcases
There were some flannel pillowcases that Dale brought into the marriage 15 years ago. They were beaded up and I didn't think they were very comfortable. I reallocated the pillowcases into dog beds. The night I first put that dog bed in the pile, Keegan, age 9, walked by and saw said pillowcase. He started crying saying that he loved that pillowcase. How could I make it into a dog bed. He was pretty inconsolable.
On Monday, November 4, I started making Keegan and Dillon pillowcases for Christmas.

Stocking
The Featherweight Friday project at Trackside Quilting on November 1 was a quilt as you go stocking. Rather than the organized wedge pattern suggested, I just did willy nilly crumb quilting with really big pieces.
I donated the stocking to Adult Resource Alliance as part of the Christmas giving program through Quilt By Association quilt guild.
It was nice that all of the supplies for this project were from stash. And I was able to complete it in the one day at Trackside Quilting.
