YVQG Exchanges

Yellowstone Valley Quilt Guild decided to do both a Row by Row & Round Robin exchange for 2014.  I opted to participate in both.  We were tasked to turn in our exchanges at the July meeting.

I created the paper pieced bees for the border for Pam P.'s Beekeeper round robin.

The bee pattern is from the Over by the Pond pattern from The Quiltmaker Pattern collection.

The frog and dragonflies are paper pieced patterns from the Over by the Pond pattern from The Quiltmaker Pattern Collection.

I picked up the Over by the Pond pattern at one of the vendor booths at HMQS in Salt Lake City, UT in May.

Wall Hanging

My sister, Kyla, did one of her pharmaceutical rotations in Billings at Riverstone Health.  The final assignment was a reflection project of her time at Riverstone Health.  Kyla decided to create a wall hanging.  Kyla did all of the work.  I just watched.  Kyla did a great job!

I was showing Kyla fabric that she could use for her project.  Keegan has just received fabric from Brooke A.  Keegan was helping select fabric and he was suggesting fabric that Kyla could use from his stash.  He told Kyla that she could use some of his fabric because he wouldn't be able to use it all.  It was really sweet.  The orange stripe fabric is from Keegan's stash.

Dog Beds

I finished two more dog beds in July.  I spent a lot of time cleaning up the scraps that I have been receiving for a group of ladies in Laurel.  This could have almost been my item for the 100 items challenge for July.

Blogger Universe

I signed up for a new group at Four Winds Quilting.  It is a group that is to be using solids.  We are supposed to be using at least 50 percent solids in our blocks.  It does not appear that this is what is going on though in the group.  Some of the people are not requesting any solids in their blocks.  Since it is an exchange, they can request anything they would like.

We are to be using either free patterns from the internet or blocks from the Modern Quilts from the Blogging Universe by Martingale Press.

Cosmetic Bag - #27 July

DeAnne M. from the Sew N Sew group presented a class on creating the cosmetic bag in February.  All I needed to do to finish my cosmetic bag was finish the interior corners.  I just finished it in July even though I have been using the bag since the first evening I created it.
