Hearts

For Valentine's Day each year since Keegan was born, I have tried to make a heart for each of the boys for Valentine's Day.  Keegan noticed one year that I did not have a heart for me.  Now I make 4 hearts each year.

For Dale:

For Keegan since his favorite color is purple:

For me:

I did a crumb heart center and then cut a heart out of the main background fabric.  I quilted the background fabric and used the yellow to applique the background in place over the crumbs.  Next, I used the Sew Sassy 12 weight thread to write love in the center of the crumbs.  I see now that the love text does not show up well enough - I should have gone over the text a few times.
