This was originally created as part of my Thread Fusion demo for longarm group in May. I had intended on finishing it and turning it in for the Community Quilts challenge. My sister was browsing through stuff that was in various stages of completion. She said that she wanted this for herself. When she put the other quilts back in the cabinet she put the Sunflower back in on top. She told Keegan that she did that so the Sunflower would be completed first.
Denim stretches. Oh my. Since these pieces were intended for Community Quilts, I was using up denim that I have in my stash. No matter what I tried, it seems like I got tucks in the top where I was quilting. Messy.
I also used bias binding to make the Sunflower a circle. And I made the binding the piped binding. It was cool. I had fun and was happy with the binding. I considered the binding a success.
